Robot Maker Ati Motors Banks New $20 Million

Walden Catalyst Ventures and NGP Capital were the leads on the new round

Ati Motors has raised $20 million in a Series B funding round led by Walden Catalyst Ventures and NGP Capital. Other participants in this round include existing investors True Ventures, Exfinity Venture Partners, Athera Venture Partners, and Blume Ventures.

Ati Motors specializes in developing autonomous mobile robots—tugs, bin movers, pallet movers, and lifting platforms—that utilize 3D navigation, LiDAR-based mapping, and outdoor mobility capabilities to operate in complex automated industrial systems. To date, the company’s robots have been deployed in the automotive, aerospace, appliances, and electronics industries to help manufacturers automate material movement and optimize product workflows.

According to Ati Motors, its robots have collectively traveled over 500,000 kilometers across more than 50 factories, serving over 40 manufacturers, including automotive parts maker Forvia and automotive manufacturer Hyundai. Led by Saurabh Chandra (CEO), Ati Motors is headquartered in Bengaluru, India, with a North American headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.

Capital from this round will be used to support Ati Motors’ expansion into North America and the Asia-Pacific region. The company has recently established operations in Mexico and is expanding its Detroit-based North American headquarters.

“This funding will accelerate our ability to leverage our extensive real-world dataset to develop next-generation AI models and further advance our industrial autonomy platform,” said Mr. Chandra. “The rapid growth we’re experiencing validates our approach of focusing on manufacturing as a vertical and conceptualizing these robots as purpose-built self-driving vehicles.”

Founded in 2017, Ati Motors has now raised a total of $37 million in funding, including this recently closed $20 million Series B round.

Walden Catalyst Ventures invests in early-stage deep-tech companies in the United States, Europe, and Israel. Led by Young Sohn and Lip-Bu Tan, the firm has invested in more than 600 startups globally and participated in over 135 initial public offerings. Founded in 2021, Walden Catalyst is headquartered in San Francisco.

NGP Capital invests in early-stage B2B companies in the U.S. and Europe, focusing on enterprise software, industrial technology, cybersecurity, and infrastructure. The firm has over $1.6 billion in assets under management and has invested in more than 100 companies, 18 of which have become unicorns and 11 have gone public. Founded in 2005, NGP Capital is headquartered in Palo Alto, California.
